Born and raised in Washington DC, I moved back here (to our house in Arlington) in 2009 after several years abroad with my family. DC and Arlington are also my artistic home, and I received the warmest possible welcome from friends and colleagues that remember our past work together: it’s great to have old friends.
But my first two years back have been filled with surprises: brand new avenues and exciting collaborations: challenging directing projects; a return to acting; a developing voice as a playwright; and new populations to teach, from the teen agers of the DC Creative Writing Workshop in Anacostia to the assisted -living residents of the Jefferson in Arlington. What a trip.
